First week

Well first week is done and seems to be going good :-). I did start a daily calendar on our second week of school, even thou I have the big one on the wall I made a smaller version for the kids that they can do on their own every morning before getting started. My son seems to like it. He is very excited when u tell him to get his "black" binder
Not only does the personal calendar have "trace the date" for every day of every month and yes can be used by 4-6yr olds as well as older kids it contains a weather page, how to write the date correctly, how many days of school, what's your address and phone number, and other fun pages to help them get in the mood to learn
All together with the math problems that are included in this daily calendar it takes us about hour to complete. I am hoping as we get used to this new activity it will take us less time to complete in the future.
I know currently I don't have a lot of followers but if anyone following this page wants links to where I get my ideas please feel free to let me know and I'll post em.
I do plan to post pictures of some activities as we go on

Accidents

This year is our first actual year with a Home school co-op. well this year we decided sports would be a nice addition to our routine so my oldest daughter who is only one old enough for sports and only able to do Cheerleading is now a cheerleader
for the first day or so of cheer she was shy and quiet but now she walks through stores practicing her cheers lol cute to watch. And boy is she doing great.

Well tonight she was in the backyard practicing her cheers doing a great job. She had just finished her cheer when she went to do a toe touch and busted her mouth open while applying ice to her mouth we actually found pieces of skin on her pants :-/ I'm so proud of her she never cried

First day of school

Wow summer has come to a close school is underway at Jones Academy where this year we have a 6th grader 5th grader kindergarten and 2 pre-k'ers

I have to say our morning is off to a rough start with my 5th grader starting the same "I'm stupid, how do u do this" game he's played in the past with his other teachers. It's very frustrating when it comes to your own child and trying to break the "bad habits" they were taught in public schools.

So how our day started
645am wake up
700am breakfast
800am studies start

Today we did a light load to ease back into studies so we did some spelling refreshers from last years spelling words we used www.homespellingwords.com for our printed and practice spelling lists. They also offer some spelling games online for kids to practice their spelling word.

After spelling we did math, last week I had the older kids do math placement tests to help me figure out what information they had forgotten over the summer. So today we worked on missing numbers and long addition seems to be taking a toll on the kids but it will come back to em
